Has anyone attended HSSRP as a commuter before? I’m curious about the overall experience of not being able to live with the others on campus

About half of the students were commuters last summer. About half of the ones dorming went home for the weekend, while the rest stayed (out of state or from elsewhere in CA).
Can’t say anything from a commuter perspective, but I was much closer to those that were dorming.

Did anyone get in off the waitlist…looks like I’ll have to start looking for something else to do this summer :(

My friend that got the initial selection email with the wrong name did. lol

Oh hey!! I got an initial selection e-mail! I guess someone had a diff. summer program to go to.

I’m kinda scared that it says: we’ll MOST likely find a faculty advisor for you/ we’re REALLY CONFIDENT/ we cannot guarentee admission. Has anyone not been accepted as an initial selection before?

Is this a really good program? Have there been Intel finalists from here? I need to decide between this one and another program that I got accepted into. Same deadline to decide- like two days… lol

that is awk moonroll…

Hi everyone! I got the official acceptance email!

nice job moonroll!
You’re so lucky

@ moonroll: awesome!!

Anyone know the general number of students assigned to each engineering sub-field? Or how many there are total?

Has anyone received an email about housing yet?

Thanks, itsme456 and crazyaboutbio!

No, I have not received an email about housing.

Just got a waitlist email… anyone else on the list with me? :c
I was pretty set on going to another program this year, but I’m starting to warm up to the idea of going to HSSRP instead - if I get in that is!

Which field have you guys been assigned to?

Hey guys:

What does the acceptance e-mail look like (could you please copy past on this forum)?

I’d like to know if they accept you if you have to attend. Thanks in advance!! Congrats to all!

Congratulations ___________!

In the actual program, does anyone know whether the professors assign specific projects or do they allow the student to pick projects and just mentor them. In addition, is the research allowed to be used in competition?

To make communication easier, anyone interested in starting a facebook group?

Let’s make one!

Yes! We should totally have a FB page.

I wouldn’t mind at all starting one. Someone would need to step forward and pm me there facebook username so that I could start the group, though, since you can’t start a group of 1.
