Is it true that in state residents have a better chance of getting admitted to UCLA vs Out of state? It appears that a larger percentage of in state residents get accepted into UCLA so I was wondering if anyone could clear up any misconception, since I thought UCLA would be more inclined to take out of state residents as they would get more income that way.

IS Acceptance rate: ~18%
OOS Acceptance rate: ~30%

But out of state students might have better stats to begin with, so there’s no way of knowing for sure.
