I was just wondering what my chances would be if I was accepted to UCLA as a econ major then making the switch as an engineering major. I have all my classes listed by the time I'm done. I'll have 2 calculus courses in physics, 2 courses in chemistry with lab, 3 courses in Calculus and C++, although this is not necessary for a econ major, I was doing it because I didn't want to be stuck at JC for 1 more year. I want to get to UCLA as soon as possible, and applying as an engineering major without having the Pre-reqs done is usually a denial in top programs like CAL and UCLA. So i was wondering if i could transfer when im accepted to UCLA as an econ major to engineering since I have almost all the pre-reqs except for a third year in physics ,linear and diffy eqs. Should I apply as an econ major and get the hell out early or wait it out in my dreaded CC. Also is the switch from econ to engineering "possible" in my situation?

Lets hope you get in as a econ major first.

I think you should be able to switch since you finished so many pre-reqs. I would start summer classes at UCLA if you get accepted. Finish out the remaining pre-reqs and then apply for major change in the fall so you can start on your engineering classes ASAP.
