I'm a junior and an out-of-state resident.
- What is a recommended SAT/ACT score?
- &What are some determining factors that can help me get in: community service, sports, essays, etc?

Write a good essay, have a good amount of extra curriculars, and I’d say at least a SAT score of 1950-2050 to have a chance.

Good luck :)

Recommended SAT/ACT score: 2400/36

Determining factors: Curing cancer, ending the war in Iraq, bringing about world peace, stopping global warming, bringing democracy to Cuba, ending hunger for many people in the world, eliminating unemployment forever, and fixing the current economy. They also recommend that you cure AIDS although thats not required

Dude, I know someone who invented the f***ing WARP DRIVE and didn’t get in.

I think that’s a little overkill. I only did three of those things and I still got in. OP should be fine.

Idk. I had an out-of-state friend who did all of those things except stop global warming and he got rejected. The admissions office even sent him a special rejection letter saying he was worthless. Now, he’s working at McDonalds

I got in and all I did was find bin laden. Don’t worry about it.

if your achievements aren’t up to par, you go to plan B: travel to LA and beg admissions office, prostrating yourself in front of the building and claiming that you are poor, pathetic, half-mexican, and have six siblings to feed.

i had a 33 act with subpar sat II tests (had flu =() but am 5/453 in class rank and 4.0 GPA. For UCs, I got into the 3 I applied to…UCLA, UC: Berkeley, and UC: Irvine…they are ALOT of money though since im from NE. i would def consider the claremont colleges…im going to claremont mckenna this fall! they are awesome schools =) sorry had to put my little input in

EDIT: I was also very involved with music, leadership positions in music, varsity swim team, and key club…hope this helps!

Sarcasm aside, I suggest you aim for a 2200+ and a 3.9+ Weighted GPA.

I had a 2250 (one sitting) and 3.93 WGPA. I also did a bunch of science things and had an internship at a research lab.

Don’t worry about it too much. Take classes that you’re actually interested in, get good grades, and get involved in something outside of class that you are truly interested in. Don’t worry about all this community service crap; I had a whopping total of 0 hours.

As a side note, I’m attending as an Electrical Engineering major. So yeah.

Ban opppppp

why ban? -_-
