UCLA Library

Hi, I had a question. I'm currently at SMC (attempting to transfer to UCLA), and was wondering about the library. I usually have a hard time studying at home late at night, and was wondering whether UCLA has a library that is open 24 hours (both on weekdays and weekends), or at least has relatively late open hours. If yes, do I need to be a student to gain access to the libraries to study? Do they check student ID's at the door or inside the library during late night hours? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I know Powell is nice and quiet, stays open pretty late, and all night during midterms/finals week. But i'm not sure.

Actually, i've never gotten my Bruin Card checked when I went there. But you need it to check out books and stuff. Not sure about just being there to study.

All the library hours are posted here... http://www2.library.ucla.edu/about/887.cfm

You need to show your BruinCard at the front desk to enter libraries when it's really late at night, and you also need to swipe your BruinCard through a wall-mounted reader to access certain rooms at that time.

yeah, I've never had to show or swipe my bruin card, but, ive never been there much after 12.

Im too lazy to read the hours, but for most of the quarter, I believe the reading room (where most people study: has like 500??? desk/table spots to study at) is open 24 hrs.

I actually saw someone there from USC once.
