The biology classes at my CC only cover UCLA's Life Sciences 2, and not 1 or 3. Does this mean if I get accepted at UCLA I would have to take 1 and 3? Or would I have to do their entire series? Or do I get credit for 1 and 2. I'm confused.

From my knowledge, the way UCLA works with transfer credit for sciences from schools from the semester system, it requires a lot of classes to finish the series at CC. So you would take the equivalent for LS2 at your CC and then have to finish LS 1,3, 4 at UCLA.

Problem to check: If you take a number higher in the series (for instance 2 and not 1), you may not get credit for 2. You better check into that. They have weird rules and credit determinations when series are not done in sequence. In some instances ppl have been disqualified because it made them suddenly lack a major requirement. Definitely check with the UC in question for verification in writing. DO NOT RELY ON YOUR CC ADVISOR or college confidential.

What CC do you go to? It’ll help us interpret the requirements for your major that UCLA has imposed on you.

LS1 can be taken out of order. I know a lot of people at UCLA tend to take it last in the series. Most start with LS2.

Thx @CSB111 !
