For UCLA are the students admitted by the college (like college of letters and science) or by the major ( like econ)? Is econ a hard major to get into for UCLA? What are the easiest/hardest majors in the college of letters and science to get into? Also, how hard is it to change from one major to another in the same college such as from statistics into economics? Thanks!

If you apply to the college of Letters and Sciences, you will be in competition with everyone else applying to that college, major choice is not a factor here. It is very easy to switch majors within the college, so going from statistics into economics should not be a problem.

The easiest major to get into within the College of Letters and Science is the one you’re passionate about.

Check the website. Admission is to the college. However, for an impacted major such as Economics or Sociology, I would do the research rather than asking on a forum.
