Our son will be attending UCLA as a musical theater major this fall. I understand that they admitted about 100 freshman into the School of Theater Film and Television which includes majors from playwriting to acting to musical theater. There seems to be a majority of students admitted for acting. Does anyone have info/tips/insights/comments? Anything would be appreciated.
On average, there is somewhere around 60 students in the ENTIRE freshmen class (i.e. acting, design/production, directing, general theater, musical theater, playwriting, etc.)
Typically, the breakdown is something like this:
About 25 students in the Acting Track
About 15 students in the Musical Theater Track
About 10 students in the Design/Production Tracks
About 10 students in the Directing/Playwriting/General Studies Tracks
Does anyone know if a student can be accepted to UCLA if they are not accepted into the MT program or is it an all in one?
@rittlette no I do not believe UCLA will allow you to defer to another major
