I have received some information for UCLA Engineering which might help/discourage you. They use an equation - the only thing that is not quantitative is the holistic review, in which you receive a 1-5 depending on how interesting/well-rounded/passionate you are. They use this score in combination with your SAT/SAT II/ACT/GPA, come out with a total score, and if you’re high enough, you’re in. If you’re on the border, you get waitlisted/reviewed again. If you’re under, sadly, you’re out of the process.

Do you know how the score works, (like what is the score for a perfect ACT)

@Texasian, where did you get that information from?

I read that a couple times from different books about admission too. It is not unique for UC system. Each school may put different weight in different factor for the holistic review though.
For OP, you GPA is hurting you while your SAT score is not helping you either. Did you add that extra point for AP grades already? Your ACT score is better and is within range for UCLA. Your oos status and your intended major are all not in your favor for admission to these 2 schools. You will be low reach to UCLA and reach to UCB.

I attended an 8 week summer program in UCLA Engineering and they had an admissions counselor from the school (Erkki Corpuz) come to talk to us specifically about UCLA. I can’t cite anything online, but he even showed us graphs and charts related to how they selected candidates

bumpppp just want a few more opinions
