UCLA "next steps" at your CC

My CC is having a "Next Steps" orientation thing for accepted students with some UCLA reps tomorrow. Did your CC do this and, if so, what did you do? I'm kind of nervous to talk to UCLA reps. lol

Do u go to Moorpark cc?? They are having one tomorrow as well.

isn’t moorpark’s thing on thursday?

don’t think my cc is doing this, but i’m going to bruin day up here on sat at 9am! (i’m in the bay area)

ilivefree,
so am i!!! but ill be with my parents… so if u meet me, im going to be hella quiet.

i go to santiago canyon college in orange county.

I’ve never heard of Next Steps. Did you hear about it through your CCC or through UCLA? I wonder if there is going to be anything like that in San Diego…Anyone know??

the transfer center at my school sent me an email regarding it.

sweetnezz, you go to moorpark!?

good to know you got into ucla.

don’t be afraid of the reps. they’re nice if you don’t ask stupid questions, haha.

hey sopheee, yep i’m at moorpark and in at ucla, can’t wait to be at a reaalll school.

I go to moorpark too, and UCLA in the fall:) BTW, moorpark’s thing is thurs…r u going??

i don’t think i’m going to go on thurs. it’s just like a pizza and drinks thing and i don’t feel like driving there for that and i don’t have any classes that day so it be a waste of gas :)

sounds kinda lame then. i might not go… i have to study for two tests tomorrow anyway. :P

yeah, i’m lactose intolerant… so… nooo…

i went today. it was actually kinda interesting. one of the ucla reps came to talk to about 8 of us who had been accepted into ucla, answering all our questions personally…

he recommended doing the 6-week 12-unit summer session at UCLA, which is like academic bootcamp that gets you ready for the fall. haha. i asked if i could take a class at UCI instead and he told me to email ucla of my plans, but he didn’t think it’d be a problem.

the summer session has a 4-day a week writing class, a 3-day a week class that has to do with your major, and a 2-day a week research class wrapped up into 6 weeks in august. i’m not sure if i’ll do that…he said that housing is available and financial aid can help you.

also, he recommended doing study abroad which is supposedly the same price as a regular quarter (??true??). if it is, i want to do that!

anyone going to the bruin day this weekend, feel free to say hi to me! i’m easy to spot, fairly short hair (like trinity in matrix), tall, lots of tattoos.

looking forward to the event!

do you know when the transfer admit day is?
