Does UCLA have a "numbers"/stats only system - ie. anyone above X number gets accepted? Would this mean that I could take the SAT 4 times and have it not affect my possibility of acceptance?

No. UCLA explicitly uses a system called holistic review that does not use any indexes.

But you can take the SAT as many times as you want. There’s really no point in doing so, but it won’t hurt your chances at UCLA.

But I’ve always heard that taking the SAT more than 3 times is bad - is this true for UCLA?

I believe that if you take it more than 3 times, they just average the score, which would be bad in most cases. Not sure though.

Anyone else have insight on this?

None of that addresses UCLA, or indeed, any UC. UCLA just looks at your highest score in a single sitting. It’s a UC-wide admission policy.

The CB does much research on whether SAT tutoring or retakes do much good. Everybody considering retaking the SAT for a third or fourth or fifth time ought to read that research and determine if it’s worth his or her time, money, and energy.

Tru dat. My bad.
