So I know my GPA/SAT/AP stats aren't very good, but hopefully I am still in the running...? Let me know if you guys think I have a good shot. I think my supplement application essay and my personal statement were really good :) Thanks in advance!

Academically, I believe you’re fine. Just as long as you mention in your supplement essay that you truly want to be a nurse and nothing else. I’m friend with around 5 nursing majors and they’re extremely passionate about being nurses, so it seems that UCLA Nursing school are likely to select people who wants to end up as being nurses no matter what.

Thank you so much for your response! I definitely did express my passion for becoming a nurse in my essay - I believe I am truly one of those people that are extremely determined and dedicated to becoming a nurse.

I talked about how I discovered I wanted to be a nurse in the eighth grade and that being a volunteer at the hospital, being a sales associate, and being a first generation college student has shaped and strengthened my desire and drive to become a nurse… I was really pleased with it so I hope they will be too. But I really do appreciate your post. Thanks again.

I’m not exactly sure how the Nursing school admissions work (though I do know some people in the program) but it’s quite competitive as there’s only a small cohort each year. It’s good that you’ve gotten exposure to the hospital environment through your volunteering and that you’ve taken those science courses, your priorities seem clear. The dual enrollment and electives also set you apart and make up for the lack of APs and the SAT score (I believe they place emphasis on math).

Either way, as stated above the supplemental essay will be a key component of evaluation so hopefully you were able to showcase your passion for nursing and tie in why you want to be a nurse and the experiences you’ve already had that are relevant (looks like you were able to accomplish this). Good luck

Thank you UC-Dreams I appreciate it!

Just wondering- did you get in? I got into the School of Nursing and I’m curious to talk to anyone else who did! I currently haven’t found anyone else.

Treadmill, I also got into the school of nursing :)

Yay! Do you plan on going to UCLA?

Yes! I just completed the SIR!

That’s awesome! I’m 99% sure I’m going, but I’m still waiting for Bruin Day to be absolutely positive that the UCLA Nursing program is the right fit. Will you be going to Bruin Day? If so, I’m sure I’ll see you in the Nursing information session!

What other schools are you considering?
And I’m also going to bruin day. Looking forward to it!

I only applied to 3! I got into the USF and UC Irvine Nursing programs, with honors at UCI.

what were your stats that got you admitted? im only a junior in highschool, but ucla nursing is my dream! thank you! :)

@amber307 - did you get in? how did you find out? (and when)?
@treadmill and @caligal99 - how did you find out you got in? through email or through the admissions portal? and do you remember when?

The decision should come out through MyUCLA, admissions portal.

@geta387 Do you remember when you found out? I got an email 2-3 weeks back saying that they received my application and to check back mid-march. Did anyone get this email or
