UCLA off campus university apartments

I know that housing is “guaranteed” for transfers, but how likely is it to be able to get an off campus university apartment?

Also, if I can’t get an off campus university apartment, I’m planning on just getting an apartment really close to UCLA, but its hard to find one that isn’t insanely expensive. Anyone have recommendations for some apartment complexes near campus that aren’t WAY too expensive?

Oh! Any transfers looking for a female roommate for the 2015-2016 school year? I’m looking to share a 2 BD/ 2BA with someone!

For two bed two bath apartment near campus, you are looking to spend easily $2500 a month. Many people share that space with 4 people total in one apartment in order to keep costs down.

@alyssacaparelli You can easily find comfortable and affordable housing if you look outside Westwood to Culver City. It is possible to find affordable housing even in Santa Monica/Venice. I used to live in Downtown LA and traveled to UCLA and Santa Monica College on the daily, paying 35$ for monthly bus pass. Paid 450 for rent, although admittedly I had to lower my standards. I am not sure why people are so keen on living around Westwood Village, but if that is what you want, Candles has accurate info. If I decide on UCLA, I will look for housing either in Culver City or Central LA. I don’t mind dealing with the commute if it can save me a few hundred. My financial aid package from UCLA gives me about 600$ that I can use towards rent. With a budget of 800$ going towards rent in total, it is possible to find a nice private room with shared bath anywhere on the Westside, besides right next to the beach or in Westwood.

@CaptainCal Yeah i know its a lot cheaper the further away from westwood you go, but i’ll be working at the UCLA hospital as well as going to school so i really want to be as close as possible. I’m hoping that i’m able to get one of the university apartments, but I’m not sure how likely that is for transfers.
