I have a class Friday at 5…
I’m not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, I can check later after a majority of people already have. Maybe there will be less traffic. But on the other hand I am probably going to be going crazy for two hours wondering and being anxious.

Check on your phonnnne

Haha, you don’t know what kind of phone I have

Lol well hopefully your class isn’t super long!

I have work until 7. And I’ve decided I’m not going to check at work because I want my parents to be the first one to know, and not my boss!

Also don’t feel like crying at work if I get rejected.

Luckily I’m off at 330…and at least I’ll be kept busy that day! And yeah…I decided I would call my dad first if I got in…I don’t even know if he knows I applied lol

I wish I could hiberante for the next 3 days until Friday :/

i wished the same, 10days make it even better, by the time i wake up, all the decisions are ready for me.

I have to work 4 to midnight, no way I’m checking at work. I’m going to look at home where I can either scream with delight or fall apart in tears.

Ayyy, anyone know where we’re supposed to update any changes in coursework? TAU is closed or something now and the message thing UCLA has on their website is for changes in coursework prior to fall 2011…
I’ve searched 230482340293854029358 billion threads and can’t really find a solid answer DX

@wooyoung

you can’t update your TAU, the process you’ll have to follow to update your class schedule (i.e. if you dropped, withdrew, failed a class) would vary from school to school. ucla, for example, lets you update your class schedule but only if you’re admitted to the school, they then determine whether that changes your admission status or not.

@wooyoung

I used this form on the UCLA website: [- UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/ContactForm/DataChanges.aspx)

I would also call the office of admissions just to be safe…

Anyway, I’ve been reading this thread for a while. I applied for Communications with a ~3.6-3.7 gpa (3.92 average gpa of admitted students for Fall 2011… I’m screwed), alternate major Sociology but missing a pre-req. No changes whatsoever on URSA, can’t logon to myUCLA. Poop. Oh well, we’ll all find out soon!

@jmk7: Yay, another comm major! I thought sociology could not be declared as an alternate as it was impacted? That’s what my counselor told me, hence why I listed philosophy.

@Postsecret

You’re a comm major too? How exciting! Are we the only two? And uh oh, I didn’t know that. The counselors at my school are so useless -__- Looks like I’ll be receiving bad news on Friday hahaha

@jmk7: I think I’ve seen 1 other poster that is a comm major on here, but I don’t remember his/her username. And about sociology - I don’t know, my counselor could be wrong! In any case, don’t say that! We have to rally and support each other, lol. I can’t tell you how many people have told me not to apply for comm because it’s too impacted. Did you have that experience, too?

@Postsecret

Yeah… we had a UCLA admissions rep come to my school to give a presentation/help students with questions regarding transfer, and they basically told us NOT to apply for impacted majors if our stats weren’t strong/competitive. Actually, most of the “presentation” was the rep telling us to apply for the less-popular majors, like Asian American studies, if we wanted a chance to get in. Definitely a downer because it was too late for me to complete pre-reqs for any of the unpopular majors. I guess we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best Who knows what will happen!

@jmk7: Yeah, I had multiple counselors reiterate kind of the same thing, and push me towards majoring in something else. However, I love comm! If you don’t mind me asking, did you finish all your prereqs?

Also… 2 more days!

anyone apply for UCLA’s new major, human biology and society?

@Postsecret

Me too! It’s funny because I used to be deathly afraid of public speaking… or any kind of speaking in general. I finished all the pre-reqs listed on assist.org that were available at my CCC, but I received a C in one of them (Micro Econ) I think I saw your post earlier regarding your GPA. You definitely have a better chance than me!

@jmk7: I think for UCLA, prereq completion is most important, especially for impacted majors like ours. We’re at least on even footing because I didn’t even complete the econ prereq. I’m missing the Anthro not articulated at my school, econ, and my stats is in progress right now. Nail-biting anxiety, sigh!

And that’s funny! I absolutely hated public speaking as well, I would literally get clammy, sweaty, and trembly. I could visibly feel my hands shake, but not anymore! :)
