not sure if that holistic things means that UCLA cares about our personal statements. i mean, i am sure that they did not read mine. haha. it is my impression that only UCB reads the statements in that holistic arena. now there are exceptions to all these ideas, but i have read on here many times that they do not read those suckers. and i sure know they did not read mine before they emailed me. haha. is it friday yet? sheesh, sure hope we get in. don’t you? would be great to go to UCLA. they have a superb history department. and yes, my major is impacted with the little * next to history. they should really just use a skull and crossbones. not the *. i have been doing the sherlock holmes thing, just for fun (someone posted a picture of a detective). anyway, i bet they do a preliminary review and then send the apps for final review to the departments for approval. does that make sense? and i had a thought, seems like schools want to pick people with the least risk of failing, more than anything, for political reasons. with a few exceptions. maybe. and of course athletes are on their own program.

I know for a fact that UCLA read about 1/4 of the PS of the freshman applicants last year. Berkeley read about 1/2 maybe even more. I don’t know if this trend changes for transfer applicants though.

@ Northbeach: Oh, I did not know that. I’m kinda hoping to get rejected just so that I don’t have to make a decision between UCLA anthro and communications at another UC. lol.

@Philosoup: No he doesn’t live close. I actually live in Glendale with my gf since she goes to school around here(Art Center in Pasadena) but I am 20mins from UCLA. My parents’ house is in Chino Hills though so technically he would be living there. LOL. I go eat with my bro on the weekends sometimes since he has so many free meal swipes from his financial aid stuff. lol. I can’t stand his dorm though. Three people stuffed in that box he calls a dorm? Never in my life! How he can live there, I will never know!

someone was advertising on another college forum website that they will write PS for people. that is so lame. of course it happens, but it just didn’t even cross my mind that people would be so retardo. no wonder they don’t read all of them. anyway, i am babbling today. been a long week, and two days to go.

@ Philosoup: How do I check the URSA site? I’ve only been to that decision site.

Oh and a little insight on the dorms at UCLA too. They suck ass, they are so small. My brother IS a transfer so his dorm is all transfer students. No special treatment, the housing is just as crappy. He lives at SV. lol.

@northbeach: I actually know a lot of *******s that got into UCLA right out of high school that paid for people to take their SATs and paid for their PSes too. Most of them all went on AP and got kicked out though. LOL. wah wah wahhhh =]

^ haha. funny. we should all get together and make a comedy movie about college admissions after we are accepted to UCLA. this stuff really entertains me. “cheating” has always confused me. frankly, cheating is far more complicated and expensive than just doing your homework. even more hilarious that they were kicked out. how poignant.

is it my imagination, or does everyone now see their financial aid documents on the ursa site? or have the people who did not see info, stop posting on this thread? hmmm much too lazy to go back and read all the posts i missed.

I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO HEAR FROM UCLA FOREVER!! I can’t handle these last few days! haha I’ve always been in love with it there
I’m an English major! (of course impacted:/ ) anyone else here an english major?!

when i click on financial aid and tracking what should i expect to see?
