UCLA Official Countdown

@justine

where did the farting-and-running, especially the running part, come from?

@aust1n, I officially have no idea what you’re talking about anymore

@justine: Neflix is pretty good :] I already ended my free trail…but my friend let’s me use hers. I like horror/thriller movies, they have some good ones…

@psych, big horror fan over here as well :slight_smile: however mostly in the zombie genre, not thriller

and to answer the question you asked in the other thread:

astrophysics
4.0 major
3.8 overall
10 years volunteer work + 4 years full-time work

@justine: Nicee! We have something in common! Ahh, interesting. I feel like you have a good shot. Is UCLA your number one choice? Good lucckk &nd let us knoww!

I’m just going to clean and play WoW to make the time go by!

@psych thanks thanks thanks :slight_smile:
you know, Cal WAS my number one choice, but now I’m thinking it’s UCLA. and I will! we’re going to do another Decisions-Only thread tonight like last year’s! :)

The anxiety. Anyone else feel like a nervous wreck?

Meeeeeeeeeeerr

@justine, im also applying for astrophysics but only have a 3.5 gpa overall.
have you had any positive signs from looking at the myUCLA sites?

^^^ I do! eeeeek

I transferred last year at UCSD as a sophomore transfer (yes, even I was surprised they accepted me with all the lack of prereqs fulfilled) as a Biochemistry and Cell Biology Major. I am pretty happy here but I applied to UCLA just to see if I have the chance of getting in as a “real” junior transfer student.

When I applied last year, I have a 4.0 GPA without Physics, Organic Chemistry, and only a semester of Calc. Davis also accepted me after initially rejecting me because with the lack of ochem.

Now, after a year at UCSD, my 4.0 GPA is a dream of the past. Hahaha. And I don’t even know if UCLA will even consider me because of how bad my grades went on my first quarter here.

So yeah, If feel all you guys and goodluck! Getting accepted is just the start of it. Expect to work your hardest and still be disappointed and I don’t mean that in a negative way.

Now, I am feeling anxious again about this decision. I am pretty much set here but if I get accepted I just have to see which one will work best.

But if not, I promise I won’t be bitter. Haha

@chewbacca, hey astrophysics buddy! no positive signs for me, le sigh :(

@dyepri
I am currently in the same boat as you, i doubt ill get accepted considering the major is impacted?

if i dont get into UCLA, there is always santa cruz or santa barbara

I already got into cal state long beach. So I’m pleased with that. I’m not on ucla’s nuts. And my folks said I can’t move away yet, so it looks like long beach it is. It’s like a 40 minute drive too. =</p>

Anxiety, anxiety. Best of wishes to you all. :slight_smile: 2 hours and 3 minutes!

Still don’t get why people are thinking its exactly at 5pm, where is that written?

@ AncientGammoner: Good point. Well, on the UCLA site they said “late evening.” I don’t know where the 5pm rumor came from either but with my anxiety, I’m willing to buy it.

5pm would be considered late afternoon/early evening that’s why I’m skeptical of it
