does anyone know what the next step will be for admitted students?? what’s SLR ?

Denied. Congratulations to everyone that got in! And if you didn’t, don’t give up!

@earell92
cool, i am prehistory too. we need to find the good teachers. maybe time to create another thread for that. congratulations!

@joey SLR is a camera. SIR I think is the FINAL decision saying this you’d go to UCLA and nowhere else. That you’ll commit to be a Bruin.

@joey
SIR means “Statement of Intent to Register”
i think that was your question?

for a rundown of the steps to register:
go to your online acceptance letter and click on the link provided. it will take you here:
[New Bruins - Transfer New Student Checklist - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/NewBruins/NSG_Transfer.htm)
this lists all the steps you need to take.

@iDizzle Coz you have one heck of story. HAHA.

What can be reasons to appeal though? Like legitimate ones…?

@iwillflyby: Lol. I think the app reviewer read my PS and said “cool story bro”. haha. Seriously though, I think my essays were the reason that I got accepted.

This kind of sucks though. I went back to CCC in 09 with the goal of going to UCLA one day. But for more than a year, I haven’t thought about UCLA at all. I was just trying to be realistic you know and I kind of brushed that goal off to the side. So I basically REALLY had my heart set on Davis and was really excited about it. But now that I DID get into LA I have a tough tough tough decision to make. I just hyped up Davis so much. =[.

@iDizzle I think I have an idea. I was set to UCI the whole time, but as time passed, I began to start thinking of expenses and the long term… changing my major on the way and deciding that UCLA and CSUN are the only options.

@iwillflyby: Yeah but I feel like its such a waste to just give up my chance to go to LA. I feel like I may have a nicer experience at Davis but I also feel that if I didn’t go to UCLA I may regret it or be bitter for the rest of my life. Is having a fun experience for only 2 years worth being better for the rest of my life? LOL. And my brother goes to UCLA so I may feel a little jealousy towards him if I don’t attend LA. lol.

@iDizzle

omg. I can relate. I had my heart set on UCLA in high school and got rejected. After deciding to transfer from UCSB, I thought there was no harm in applying to UCLA one more time. I also tried to remain realistic and did not think about UCLA much at all. Instead, I focused on UCI. I did research and fell in love. I checked the decisions page everyday in March, not so much now. But when I got accepted to UCLA I was excited but then yeah…

If I get accepted to UCI it’ll be a tough choice. I already pictured myself going there and can switch to Poli Sci. But then again, UCLA seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity. To be a Bruin and have that license plate frame is just too tempting! My bf’s sisters went there so I also feel that jealousy hehe

Just as long as I get out of UCSB, I’m sure I will be fine…

@allfieldsarereq: lol. Thanks for that. Yeah I already imagined how life would have been at UCD at it looked really good. But now I’m faced with this choice. =/

You know what’s funny. In 2009 while I was attending my current ccc, I went back to my first ccc that I attended from 05-07 which I later dropped out from, so that I could get my transcript and bring it to the current ccc i was attending. I had like a 1.4 GPA on that fullerton transcript. So I talked to a counselor at Fullerton coll while i was there and they told me I had absolutely no chance of getting into UCLA, not even CSUF even though I was doing good at the new ccc.

So…today, to that counselor I " say eat **** *****!" … hahaha

Oh and don’t get me started on the UCLA license plate frame. I see myself in the future driving my big bad porsche with that chrome UCLA alumni license plate on the back. So people can read it before they eat my dust. hahaha

@iDizzle, a counselor seriously told you that? they should be fired

LMAO! great minds think alike, I see.
I used to get so mad whenever I saw those on the freeway, too. I was like, they think they’re so cool. Now that’s gonna be me. And yeah, I do think I’m cool =P

@allfieldsreq:
OMG! I was the exact same way, I was trying to remain realistic nd was totaly surprised when I got accepted to UCLA…I’m having the same dilemna. I’ve grown pretty attached to UcI, but now that my dream school accepted me, Im not so sure where I should be. I think Im going to visit both campuses and just pick the one that feels right b/c I wanna be happy with my decision.

For me, I think UCLA is just… prestige. In all honesty, my career doesn’t really require a certain degree. As long as it’s a Bachelor’s but I would choose UCLA over the rest because really from the US UC’s, there’s only CAL and UCLA that will even have some kind of renown around the world.

@earell92 Yeah, me too. If I get in I am going to visit both campuses. I love UCI for it’s quietness and green-ness haha. UCLA isn’t so much quiet…but it’s prestige. And I love the architecture. It looks exactly like how I imagine a “real” college to look like, if that makes sense? I wish I could have both.

@iwillflyby Yeah, it definitely is prestige. But I am trying not to get too hung up on that. I really want to be happy. Once I choose a school, I am there. I can’t transfer again…

I bought a Harvard license plate frame and installed in on my car

I don’t even go to Harvard
MWAHAHAHAHAH

@iDizzle
Huh?!?!?!?!? if you don’t go to UCLA i will personally come and kick your ass dude.
Don’t even think about flaking out on that. people in other parts of the county, in this state, and overseas would kill to get accepted to UCLA. go to ucla, go out of fear that i will come for you in the night and kick your ass. hahahaha. come on dude, are you serious?!

@lawlking
that is cool. i am going to get one too. wait, i no longer want to attend harvard. but i wondered if i could get UCLA on my license place.

p.s. I love you guys! thanks for getting me through the past week. it was challenging.
