i just got over the fact that i will probably be there for more than 2 years for a few reasons. now i can truly take my time and enjoy college life, i mean, come on, community college was basically an expansion of high school. also, i can take advantage of their study abroad and fulfill my dream of learning a new language! at the same time, it will be costly to stay for an extra year, hopefully, it won’t be an extra FULL year for me, maybe an extra summer or quarter.

i don’t know how you guys have the wallets to do all this

Why are you surprised?

Upper division tracks offer courses only once a quarter so if you fail it, you have to wait until next year to take it again.

So the way it works is, at a community college, everything is about second chances and forgiveness for mistakes, so when you are doing bad in a class, no big deal, eat the W and take it again next semester.

Why not do that at UCLA? It’ll work right? At most you’ll push your graduation back one quarter right? Wrong!

Let’s say Anthro 109 is an upper division preparation you’re taking. You eat the W on it. It’s only offered in the fall. Doh! Oh wait, there’s more. Ahtro 110 you need to take next quarter? REquires Anthro 109 as a pre-requisite. Doh! Looks like you’ll have to wait until next year to get that track done.
