UCLA open house invitation

yeah there's some for a lot of majors as I said earlier, but if you dig around you'll find the majority of threads on here are about the letters received for the open house for engineering at UCLA (also thought to mean 'unofficial' admittance).

Uh-oh. I didn't get no letter. x_x

^^^ it's ok, I also read around and found many people who said they never received an invite to the open house but were still accepted. However, I am yet to hear about someone receiving a letter and NOT being accepted, so I'm excited!

Ahhhh I feel sick.

I received the same invite last week from the architecture department! :)

what did you order for lunch?

Did this invite come only through mail…or also online? oO
I accidentally forgot my apt number when i did the UC app ><

^Yes this invite came by mail with an RSVP password. I received one along with three of my other friends for the architecture department. Seems a bit odd (and a bit much) to me that four people from my school received one.

Is there an invitation from every department?

bjornson…yea thats a LOT of people from one school…but maybe your school is good. Where do you go?

I’m still very hopeful on this one, not everyone I know who applied has gotten one yet. And all the research I did on past threads about this said that everyone who got one got in unless they ended up not fulfilling the requirements at the end.

are there invites for the college of letters of science in global studies? please tell me of any people you know who got one

Cinamint, I attend orange coast college. We have a reputable architecture program I suppose. We’ve been told our class has been particularly strong this year but that’s just BS. Last year no one was accepted and the previous year 3 were accepted. I have the lowest GPA amongst my peers so my invite is an anomaly. Oh well I hope they don’t mess with me.

Oh I ordered smoked turkey.
Sorry I’m typing from my phone.

uhhhh global studies anyone?

Aah! It’s almost April. You gotta tell us how it goes! It’ll distract us from refreshing. [:

I heard OCC placed first at the Charette on Saturday. Good ****! We placed thrid :stuck_out_tongue:

did you apply to sciarc or any other programs?

Chesser-

The invite we’re talking about is from the UCLA Arts and Architecture School. I guess its the departments own thing… and I’m not really sure if the global studies dept. does anything in particular, but I’m sure you’ll eventially get an invite from the College of Letters and Sceince when their open house comes around.

Cinamint you attend PCC? I just called my buddy (he was one of the two 1st placers) to confirm and he gave me the whole event details. He didn’t even tell me! Anyway he’s also one of the four invited to the open house.

As for me, I have applied to UVA, umich, and ucb. No hope. I’m not a sci-arc kid. Yourself?

cinamint if I get an invite how good of a sign is that? what factors or GPA do they consider in those invitations? I ask because I heard many get the regents offer but only could have 3.9 GPA and above. do you know the gpa in this case?

did you guys get an email or a letter? Oh, nevermind, you said it was a letter. I applied for architectural studies. Haven’t gotten any letter. We’ll see what happens.

Also, I’d like to know why you guys would get a letter saying open house for architecture is on april 17th when the website says it’s may 21. hmmm
