I need some help deciding where I should apply and what my majors should be. This is with all stats put aside. I would just like hear to some opinions, please.

I'm thinking:

Business Administration (Accounting concentration) at Berkeley's HAAS school of Business
OR
Business Economics (Accounting minor) at UCLA

I know both are very competitive and their prereqs are somewhat similar but HAAS requires more. Which major/school would be more beneficial to me as a future accountant?

By the way, say if I apply to one of these schools in the fall but I still need to take Calc II, Chinese II, and an art class in the spring, which are all prereqs, would I not be eligible? Thank you and please help!!

Apply to both. Get in = study at that school. Little did I know someone who was admitted to both. Trust me, you don’t want to place all your eggs into one basket especially in this case the basket is SOOOO small. You should even consider “smaller” UCs too…
But if you are able to get into both, yes I agree with ^ that you should pick UCLA for an accounting focus.

I am considering applying to smaller UCs such as UCSB, UCI, and UCR. Does anyone know anything about the economics+accounting program at UCSB? I heard it’s good and that Big 4 recruit from there but it’s not an AACSB accredited school? Does that matter if I want my CPA?

I have only visited the UCLA campus which is pretty much all sorts of awesome but I do plan to make a visit to Cal one day, especially if I get accepted!

I would choose Ucla because well, that’s what I actually chose. It was between Berkeley for me as well. I think you should apply to USC as well, I have a friend who is going there and she wants to be an accountant. I’m not too sure about her major though.

The only private I’m considering is Loyola Marymount University. The programs and overall experience at USC sounds amazing but I don’t think that’s the type of school for me

I share this sentiment 100% (not politically, but the physical place) …and yet, I will be attending Cal this fall!! …the beautiful UCLA campus was very tempting, but ultimately it came down to the other factors, when I ended up choosing Berkeley!

The way I saw it: The campus itself is nice, and the academics are second to none (especially for my major EECS). And I won’t be spending much time in the city of Berkeley itself (especially the ghetto telegraph avenue). I found a place to live about 7 miles north of Berkeley, which is quite nice.
