Calx haha it's funny to see my city(pinole!!) being mentioned on this forum. That's the only thing we're known for..in-n-out lol.

How much more competitive is Berkeley than UCLA (in EE)? Will it look better to grad schools if you have a better GPA at UCLA or if you just go to the better school?

from what i've heard, EECS at berkeley is supercompetitive, bur then again, i have a friend in EECS who doesn't think its that bad. he says the classes are uncapped or uncurved or something. in everything elese, i've heard competition at cal vs ucla is neck to neck. in terms of better school, my opinion is that undergrad at UCLA and cal is almost identical, so i guess yeah, a better gpa at ucla looks better, but again, it's not a very likely scenario if the schools are the same academically and competitively.

Cal. Go bears!

msbehavin, don't worry about the weather at berkeley, the rain is nice, you should see the hills around campus and beyond in spring, gorgeous.

Getting out of SoCal will do you good, besides, you'll be in good company with 10,000 other SoCalites (SoCalistas? SoCalians?...hehe)

You'll love it at Berkeley. If you go there for the academics, you'll end up being shocked at how fun it also is.
