UCLA or CMU Economics?

Hello fellow CCers!
I really need some solid opinions with this…
I have gotten into UCLA pre-economics and CMU economics (Not Tepper, but jointly administered by Tepper and other college)

Based on prestige, job opportunities and reputation, what would be a better choice?

Did CMU come out yet?

@student000‌
I was an ED Applicant, but I requested to not withdraw my applications due to financial aid problems.
Any opinions about my question?? :stuck_out_tongue:

Both are awesome, in Economics as well as overall. Where do you think you would fit in better? They are wildly different in terms of campus environments. When you graduate, would you rather live in SoCal or the East Coast? Is one of those schools going to be cheaper than the other?

@Alexandre‌
Not sure in terms of living, since I’m an OOS (with a US Citizenship tho…)
But I prioritize job and internship opportunities regarding my major, and I think that would be in the…east coast?
In terms of price, CMU is a bit more expensive despite the financial aid.

If you were in my shoe, which would you choose?

I am not a fan of the UCs, so I would probably choose CMU, but that is purely a personal preference. LA is a major city and will obviously have plenty of great options for internships. In terms of academic excellence and career/graduate school opportunities, both schools are truly exceptional. Go with your gut/fit.
