So I applied to UCLA, with major in business economics (pre) and an alternate major and computer science and engineering… Now I don’t know WHY I did my alternate as computer science and engineering when I clearly knew I wanted my alternate to be communications…
But that is besides the point… My question is does UCLA have a system where if you don’t get accepted into the schools (business and computer science) you applied to, do they send you to some other school within UCLA?
I know CU-Boulder has a system where if you don’t get accepted into a school you applied to, they send you to the arts and science. But what about UCLA?
They get about 100,000 applications every year so chances are they wont send you to another department. They might accept you and say you can chose an alternate major but you can still get rejected from UCLA (about 80% of the applicants do)
Q: IF I AM NOT ADMITTED UNDER MY FIRST CHOICE MAJOR, WILL UCLA REVIEW ME FOR MY ALTERNATE MAJOR?
A: Within the College of Letters and Science, the major an applicant chooses is not a factor in the review process at the freshman level. UCLA does not normally consider the alternate choices of applicants who applied to majors in the other schools (Engineering, Arts, etc.).
