UCLA or Georgetown?

I'm in my freshman year and I need to prepare for future semesters to apply to both schools? Which one is better? I am from North Carolina so please consider my out-of-state status for UCLA.

In terms of prestige, G-town beats UCLA. G-town has an amazing social science program, espeecially the poli. sci, and has an advantage in getting a high level internship in the D.C.

But UCLA has many areas that beats G-town, such as Communication studies and Engineering. Being an out of state student for UCLA, both will be equally hard in terms of transferring. However, it may vary according to your major.

And please note that while G-town looks at your SAT scores and both your college and high school transcripts, UCLA will only look at your college grades and completely ignore the SAT and high school grades. However, don't forget that UCLA gives the highest priority to california community college students, so it is even hard for those transferring from an IN-STATE 4 year university, so out-of-state can only be harder.

What do you plan on majoring?

Chinese and Economics

what's your MAIN one?
You can only choose one major when transferring, at least for UCLA.

It will be Chinese

I can better assess your chances if you post your stats...

After my first semester I have a 3.97 GPA. I participate in three clubs. My high school GPA was a 3.78. I was ranked in the top 15 percent. I earned a 25 on the ACT, but I definately plan to retake it this year. My ecs were average, not stellar. I have lived in Guam and South Korea. I'm an African American female with a fascination with Asia. I plan to get more involved in my school.
