I am an international freshman applicant for fall 2013 and i have been accepted to UCLA and Macalester. I am extremely confused and I really need some help! I know both of them are extremely different schools. Im not sure which place would be right for me. I want to major in Economics and both the schools have great Econ departments. Thankfully i was granted a large amount of aid from macalester so this has its advantages.
I have a few questions

1) Which college has better a faculty?
2) Should the harsh winter in Minnesota be a factor I should take into consideration while making a decision?
3) Does a smaller campus promote individual growth? Is Macalester really better in terms of personal attention to their students?
4) Is switching majors a smooth process in both schools?
