UCLA or Notre Dame?

I'm debating between two very different schools, each with their pros and cons. I know which school I'm leaning towards, but it can easily go either way.

Major-UCLA; I'm planning to do Chemical Engineering with premed, but this is not set in stone.

Prestige-Equal

Cost-UCLA; Cheaper by about 5k

Housing-Notre Dame; I love the residential college system.

Atmosphere-Notre Dame

Location-UCLA

Social Scene-Equal; I know kids who are going to UCLA and the SoCal culture is more familiar. Plus, with such a big school, I don't think I'd have trouble finding a niche. But I like that ND is smaller and people are very friendly, even if there is not much to do.

Future Prospects-Equal; Both are good for grad school.

Research-Ehh equal? UCLA is renowned for research, but since ND is smaller, it may be easier to get a position.

Study Abroad-Notre Dame

Weather-lol UCLA

Campus-Notre Dame; UCLA is gorgeous, but ND is ND.

Notes-Both are known as "dream schools", so I'm fortunate enough to make this decision. I think that UCLA is a great fit for me academically, and it is the more practical choice, but I feel that Notre Dame offers a better college experience.

I'd like to hear some opinions. :)

Because academics will be essentially equal and tuition about the same, I’d go with where you feel most comfortable when you’re walking around campus. Personally, I’d go with Notre Dame just because of how beautiful the campus is and the school spirit. You’re lucky to have this “problem” and just know that neither is a bad choice. Good luck!

^^Thank you! Any more?

I was admitted to both and I selected ND. I personally like the smaller student body and I loved the camaraderie of the students there. I’m from California and I have visited UCLA quite a lot and I didn’t get the “at home” feeling that I got at ND. I feel at UCLA you’re just a number. Also the the average class size at ND is much smaller than UCLA. Sports-wise ND has the superior football team(if you’re interested in college football).
