ucla or nyu?

what do you guys think?

nyu's price tag is killing me, but my heart is going out to nyu
ucla's great, but i don't know, i guess i just can't get too excited over it

in terms of academics, i checked princetonreview.com, and nyu has a "85" rating whereas ucla only has a "75" rating

You probably shouldn't go with what the princetonreview says about academics.. it was discussed on another board that they gave UCLA the lowest academic ratings out of all the UCs (only riverside had a lower rating? by one point) so don't disregard Ucla for that reason..
here's a board you should look at comparing the two <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=161475%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=161475</a></p>

Are you a California resident?
What major(s) were you admitted under for each school?

flopsy-yep- from sf
i'm doing international relations for both schools

pizzaquick- you're right, the ranking really doesn't mean much
thanks for the link

The Princeton Review is terrible with ratings. I usually use NRC rankings for majors. UCLA is great at most majors. In fact, I feel that UCLA is actually better than NYU academically.

"nyu's price tag is killing me, but my heart is going out to nyu

Follow your heart if cost isn't too huge of a factor. It's 4 years of your life, so spend it where you really want to spend it.

thank neoyoyo
noticed you're from the bay area- do you go to school in sf?

No prob.

I go to school in San Jose.

i too go to school in the bayarea by walnutcreek

i use to be a huge nyu fan but nyu is way too expensive...like a usc of the east coast mediocre rich kids
