Should I go to UCLA or Stanford? At first I was considering UCSD, but my counselor told me that UCLA is better so now I am contemplating between Stanford and UCLA. Cost is not a problem for me. I want to major in Biology.

honestly
lol

stanford is obviously the better school...it all depends on which environment you like more.

(p.s why apply to stanford if you knew you might pick UCSD over it? o.O)

Are you kidding me? OBVIOUSLY Stanford.

Because nothing is a sure thing? o_0

OP, go to UCSD!

Go to Stanford. You have one day.

(always give an ultimatum :) )

depends on what atmosphere you like, but if there isn't financial concerns, I'd do Stanfuurd.

This is an easy question. You said cost is not an issue!

Another vote for Stanford.

It used to be my dream school. I didn't even apply :(

I guess...but large UC vs small, top 5 university?

Anyway, Stanford ftw

This should be no contest.

Yeah, like someone said above, if cost is not an issue...lol
Stanford was and still is my dream school, but I didn't apply because at the time I was too depressed or something thinking I wouldn't have a chance.
Do you guys know how hard is it to transfer to Stanford after 1-2 years at UCLA?

jice01, I don't know about UCLA specifically, but I do know that 20 transfer students were accepted last year out of ~1,600 applicants.. close to 1.5%, it's ridiculous.

And last year was the peak applicant year so far, Harvard cut the transfer student program, and Stanford might be limited on its number of transfer acceptances as well. It's really tough.

Don't go into any college expecting to transfer, though, or everything will thoroughly suck at college. It really is what you make of it!

^ Very difficult. 98% rejection rate.

I call shenanigans.

I think you should be that 1 out of the 4000 admittees to choose UCSD over Stanford.

^^HAHAHAHAHAHA!

yup, add some "diversity" to that campus boyyy! (or girl)

thats an easy decision. i know this guy who had to choose between a community college or harvard and he was lucky to have had two guidance counselors until this moment because they were split in their advice as to which of the two to attend. suffice it to say, he listened to his heart and is now at el camino

^^ why would anyone go to el co instead of harvard???

just because someone got into an ivy doesn't mean they should go if it isn't right for them. what's prestige going to get you, if you're miserable?
that said i don't get how the choice came down to harvard vs a CC... i mean, there's such a huge price difference among the other obvious factors. idk.

as far as stanford goes, if i had gotten in, i would have ended up there. but i'm actually glad i didn't get in, because i feel like i am happier here than i would have been at stanford. but it's personal, and subjective. still, i vote stanford ;)
