UCLA OR UCB? Can't seem to decide where I want to attend.

So as we all know, transfer decisions have been out for a while now. I was accepted into UCLA and UCB. I am so beyond grateful that I actually got into these wonderful schools, the problem now is to make a decision.

I have always wanted to go to UCLA, it has been my dream school since high school BUT I never thought I had a chance of even being considered for Berkeley.

I was accepted into UCLA with my second major of Gender studies, which I am not too excited about since I want to major in International Development and minor in Film.

For Berkeley I was admitted with my major of Peace & Conflict studies, if I attend I want to change my major to legal studies with a double minor in Human Rights and Global Poverty.

What would be the best decision? And is it possible to switch majors once I transfer??

thank you so much!

It is very possible to switch to Legal Studies and start your minor in Global Poverty and/or Human Rights in the fall.

Yes, you may declare legal studies at Cal, and you don’t even have to “switch” majors because you were accepted into the College of Letters & Science, not peace & conflict. You do have to meet the requirements and fill out the application on their homepage first though, which you would probably do after your first semester. I don’t know how it works at UCLA.

Before anyone can help you decide which school to attend, you have to tell us what is most important to you. Each school has different things going for it. And the majors you would take at either school are quite different, so you have to ask yourself which one would be most interesting for you. Have you looked at the courses for each major?
