I made my college decision to go to UCLA instead of UC Berkeley, but now that I am here for the summer I don't like the school as much as I thought I would....actually at all. I choose it because of the medical school and possible internships, but the city here is not for me. Do you have any advice on how I could transfer as a freshman?

You’re stuck there for now. Unless you drop out and go to a community college.
I would stick it out with UCLA at least for the first year and give it a chance…it’s really not that bad… :)

That happens to a lot of people. You probably would have found something wrong with Berkeley as well. Give it chance before you start talking transfer! (and this is coming from a UCLA hater!)

Once you’ve taken a class during the regular term (not summer) after HS, in the UC system you can’t xfer into a school until you’re a junior. I don’t know if this rule applies if you’ve just accepted enrollment somewhere. What you need to do is call a counselor at Cal on Monday and find out what your options are.
