UCLA or UCB question premed

sorry, mademB you are incorrect. A 3.7 at any UC will be competitive for med school, with the same mcat score. It will come down to ECs and recs. The real key is that a 3.3 from Cal will not supercede a 3.7 from Irvine.

Yeah... I head you need on average a 3.83-3.91 from Cal to get into a top 10 medical school.

Based solely on self-reported data that Cal publishes. Whether or not that is an accurate sample or not, nobody seems to have said one way or another.

But seriously, who cares if you go to a top 10 medical school? Talk to 99% of med students, and they'll tell you that they couldn't care less. They're gonna be doctors!

at Cal 90% of kids with a 3.6+ gpa and 30+ mcat get into med school 1st try
