there is no econ minor at ucsb

ucsb isnt easy

i go to ucsb. its ****ing hard (<<< bus econ major )

ucsb is awesome, you get the beach, the mountains, when you turn 21 you get the whole downtown experience which is really fun, then you have 20k college students packed into a small area called isla vista which makes for the ideal college town.

if i had to make this decision i would choose ucla. but after attending ucsb, i would go ucsb all the way. if you’re worrying about the difference in “prestige” heres a little secret for you work hard and get good grades because thats all anyone cares about, and if you’re going to do that regardless, might as well do it in paradise.

@uceric2010 same exact situation here. sigh. i don’t know what to do.

but for the OP: seriously, go where you feel happier. If you’re gonna be unhappy at UCLA, youre not going to care about the prestige. Also, the cost of UCLA is ridiculous. My estimated cost of attendance is 30,000?! And thats not even including the extra price for living in De Neve? *** is that? SB is closer to 25 or 24 if I wanted to live on campus. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. But the way I’m seeing it is the amount of opportunities I could get at Davis vs. UCLA, I will have a better chance at research, more chances to get involved, more job opportunities while on campus.

anyways, those are some of the things I’m looking at, just think of yourself. Don’t make your decision for anyone else’s opinion or the prestige.

Hey dude, so I took a look at UCLA and it was phenomenal. Everything is mostly within walking distance but the dorms are quite a walk from the campus (I would probably live in apts. anyway). The only downside is obviously the traffic and very limited parking. I didn’t see many attractive chicks either, but it was a Sunday morning. Have you made the big decision of where you plan to take your talents in the fall?

@ kyleskell

oh cool!! I’m glad you liked it, so better than UCSB?
I decided to go to UCLA. I already submitted my SIR. If I want to do what I like I have to be in LA and of course I’ll have more opportunities at UCLA? Really? the dorms are far? cause I’m planning to live on campus.
what about you? did you get into Cal?

internship opportunities around UCSB - 0
internship opportunities around UCLA - many

you’re taking on what is generally grouped into the worthless major clod, if you don’t have a ****TON of internships and leadership opportunities you might as well have gone to trade school, you’d have made more money.

I SIR’d to UCLA. Are you living on campus?

@ kyleskell

hey dude wassup. Yes, on my application I selected on campus housing since I don’t know anyone in LA, but I’ve been thinking that it is still too expensive. Maybe I should have chosen university apartments since they are way cheaper (I put that as my second option though) what about you?

hey housing offers are out. I was offered a university apartment off campus.
