which is better if im doing a neuroscience major in terms of maintaining a high GPA and competition?

um....erm...im in the same boat as you buddy...where abouts do you live? i live about 2 hours from san diego and 4 from UCLA...just curious...im beating my brains out trying to decide what i should do too

i live about two hrs from SD and about 30 min frm LA

haha, ok, so we are kinda the opposite...so you are thinking about coming from LA to go to SD and im thinking of coming for SD to go to LA...hmmmm

well, ill tell you all i know about UCSD and hopefully YOU can tell me about UCLA..

UCSD has the nortorious six colleges, whihc i actually like. It gives a big campus a smaller campus feel. ANother plus is that its in san diego, but thats prolly just a + on my part cus its closer to family....they are EXCELLENT in sciences. Its also not that confusing of a campus. They have a center called "Price" which is kinda the heart of UCSD, thats where everything happens. They also have one straight walk way that leads from one side of campus and to the other, and all everything branches off of that, which i like cus its less confussing. As far as attractive ppl go, i hear most ppl are disapointed, especcialy if you are in REVELLE (and im in revelle, but its ok cus i consider myself "average" and if its true what they say over their then ill be dead sexy compared to everyone else haha)

i wasnt expecting admission into UCLA, it came out of nowhere honestly, but because its twice as hard to get into and may look better on a resume, im really considering. Also, San DIego is my "comfort zome" and i need to start taking risks i guess hahha

so, anything helpful about UCLA would be nice if you have anything...

This is a bigger deal than you might realize! It's enough that I think you should use it as a serious factor in your decisionmaking. It's a big part of what will be your personal growth to see a new place, meet different types of people, etc. Granted that SD --> LA isn't nearly as big a transition as mine (CA --> NC), I think it will still matter a lot.

yeah, but im also going from a 3000 pop town (150 kids in the highschool) to san diego, which is still a transition, but its still an area im used to

but yeah, switching states is crazy..i wuv my california (even though i was born in chicago and lived in NJ and NY for a bit) im never leaving

Haha - I had hoped I would never be coming back! (But I think I probably will.)
