Hi CC Members!
So I’m currently a senior in high school and am having to choose between UCLA and UCSD… But I’m having a really hard time choosing because UCSD has an amazing science program and their pre dental society/ clinic opportunities but UCLA also has their own dental school which makes more sense if you want to do predental (maybe?) I’m also am an art major and UCLA is known for their art school… Which I really would love to study under because their program for the arts is amazing! The only thing I’m scared of about UCLA is the competition and getting the classes you want. I feel like the competition and curves at UCLA is a lot harsher than the competition in UCSD. Of course I want to get a good GPA and DAT (which is the most important factor for me) but going to a more competitive school might jeapordize that for me. If I go to UCSD, I still am planning to study art but their program isn’t as appealing to me as it is at UCLA. Of course I have no idea whether any of my judgements are accurate or not (which is why I’m asking here!) but if someone from both UCLA and UCSD could sort of help me make my decision that would be awesome! Also non science pre dents… Any advice on how to get research opportunities in the health field… Since most of the science/ health classes only come from those required pre dent classes. Thanks so much!
