UCLA or UCSD?

I am currently a UCSD 2nd year student and I got accepted to UCLA for fall 2009. My major is Biochem and cell biology and got accepted into biochem major in UCLA. After my two years in UCSD, I really dislike the environment here. It's far from home and there's no social life here. I like UCLA because I got more friends there and it's closer home. However, I talked to one of my friends in UCLA and she suggested me to stay in UCSD since I am planning to go to grad school. She said that it is very competitive in UCLA for biochem major and I am going to get a lower GPA if I go to UCLA. I agree that the classes in UCLA is going to be harder but after I talked to my friend, I realized that the classes in UCLA are really hard! Much harder than the classes in UCSD! Should I stay in UCSD or should I go to UCLA??

PS The only thing I don't like about UCSD is their environment.. and that's about it.. The classes there are really chill and easy...

How would you or your friend know how hard the grading is (that’s what you imply when you say “harder”).

You will have to have taken similar classes at both schools to know if that is true, and I HIGHLY doubt that UCSD is easier in grading than UCLA. Isn’t UCSD very strong in all things BIO? Would that not include biochem? Isn’t the UCSD biochem faculty higher peer-ranked than UCLA’s?

I’ve heard crazy stuff about UCLA biochem, you have to take physical chem and all that sh1t and I heard it is very difficult, maybe the hardest major at UCLA.
