UCLA or USC for pre-med, biochem major

Hello all,
I will be visiting both UCLA and USC at the end of this week
If anyone has any advice to offer as I make my decision that would be much appreciated
please do NOT address the following:
the price, the amount of school spirit, the housing, the athletics, or how good-looking students are or are not
Thanks

Hmmm that seems to only leave academics left, right? I think most people hold UCLA in higher regard when it comes to the sciences.

Thanks phospholipase
That’s what I been hearing and reading
I am kinda leaning toward UCLA, but I was just concerned about the state of UC system and the care for the undergrads

UCLA is definitely much better for the sciences, while USC is known more for the Arts, Humanities, and Business. At UCLA you can get hands-on research experience pretty easily, while this may not be the case across town. Many of the professors in the sciences get their funding through national agencies so the availability of research is not entirely dependent on the UC system.

Thanks dinoian…once again confirming what I hoped and thought

UCLA hands down!!

Best Medical Schools: Primary Care
UCLA #10
USC #57

Biochemistry
UCLA #12
USC # not ranked

Thanks SMCguy

If anyone could comment on the difficulty of getting classes and the counseling services available in relation to biochem and/or premed at ucla that would great…since it appears that most people replying to this thread attend ucla
