UCLA or UW?

I really don't know how to choose.

When I flew down to LA for Bruin Day, I completely fell in love with the UCLA campus and Westwood. I really like the atmosphere on campus and the people there. The weather is also a huge plus, not to mention all the amazing places nearby. As for UW, the campus is equally beautiful, but I'm not entirely in love with the weather, although I'm used to it from where I'm from. I also got the feeling that people at UW were a little socially awkward and weren't as academically driven as people at UCLA--probably just a misconception, but someone please comment?

I've been accepted to UW honors, although from what I know of it, it's not the greatest program--a few extra classes, study abroad options, advising, etc. I have yet to apply to UCLA honors.
I'm also a very very tentative statistics major, and I know UW has a very strong undergrad program in stats, but I have a feeling I'll probably change my major later on.

In terms of money, I'm out of state for both colleges. I'd pay full tuition to UCLA and I have a 12k/year scholarship to UW, which makes UCLA about 23k more expensive for me than UW. My parents have said that they would pay for my entire college education, without loans, but I know if I choose UCLA things would be pretty tight for them, and I don't want to do that to them (and my 4th grade brother!) just because I like UCLA a bit more.

Please help? I've been flip flopping between these two for the longest time. Which undergrad experience is better? Is UCLA worth the cost? Thanks so much for taking the time to advise!

Talk to your parents and make sure you understand reality with them, they want you to be happy and you may not know the exact/specific financial picture. Usually one parent plays the cheapo to keep things real. I would feel rotten if my kid picked a school cause of 23K a year that in actuality wasn’t that hard to afford. The 4th grader is a long ways off of college. imo UCLA is more academic driven - know students at both, but that is up to individual anyway, you will find people like you at either place. Both are good schools, it seems you really like UCLA - but you can’t go wrong, good luck!
