ummmmmmmmmmmmm are we going to have to partake in those gay photo mantages as well?

i dont think i want to go, its very high schoolish.

^ Where are the photos?

from what i heard they show us around campus. Explain grad req, and other policies. Also provide seminars in debt risk and alcohol consumptions. HOW fun.

I like to know everything about the campus that I attend, like i did for my ccc, whihc was pretty easy since it's small. So I am looking forward to spending time w/ fellow bruins.

was just reading the orientation website...so the "counselors" are UCLA students? ...if Im gonna pay $110 shouldn't I get real academic counselors and not some gay peer advisor *?
[/quote]

At my cc, some of the students who attend it, know 2X more than most school counselor. WHY? B/c students like myself, have friends who have transffered to many schools and know what it takes to do it. While some counselors don't and just shove igetc forms in ur face.

this semester, for financial aid purposes i enrolled in a non transferrable class entiteled "college and career success" , its one of those personal development classes,

ANyhow, point is, why the f**k do they not make this a mandatory course, it was taught by a councelor, and basiclly eveyrthing that it took me 5 yeras to learn she summed up into one freaking 8 week course. I was shocked that there was acutally a councelor that knew w t f is going on .

Seriously, that looks so embarrassing. Haha. I'm afraid to go to orientation just because of that. They are just having fun though and want you to actually enjoy youselves while you are at orientation rather than have it be sort of like a lecture-based class. Like Yuriy, I'm looking forward to meeting my fellow classmates and, hopefully, finding some people with the same major as myself.

yea those photos are gay...they only have them for the freshmen so Im guessing transfers don't have to do it...we have to do everything in one day so I don't think we will have time for that

^ I hope you are right.

i waslooking at the photos and wonder why the f everyone looks like they are 12, so i guess it is freshmen

yea the list of the photos are all from sessions 101, 102 etc. Have you received the brochure? It's plastered with photos of those douchebags....Im just wondering...I think we will get the same "counselors" as the freshmen...and I bet that they will try their best to make the process "fun"....yea it's going to be freakin great

they will probably buddy us up and have us present the buddy to the rest of group, then we will go around in a circle saying each others names until we memorize everyones name. then we will exchange phone numbers and email addresses so that when we get on campus we can all have orgies with each other.

i meant, so that we can all hold hands and skip through the quad.

the orgy part sounds cool...I hope I get put into a group with all girls

yes and the peer councelors are really dominatrixes and they wip all the girls into doing your bidding while servicing you as well.

i highly doubt that will happen. but you can pretend.

I will....what if there are middle-aged transfer students in our group....? awkward....

i think they will probably split the 201 group into other groups, so if your lucky maybe you will the gropu with all the young little horny girls.

i am worried, i am not very friendly and doing something like the name game would just make me highly uncomfortable and ruin my mood.

ideally this is all i want from orientation:
campus tour
general overwiev of requirments
a how to do this if you have this type of problem
important #'s , locations, blah blah

then a 1 on 1 regarding my DPR and the ability to register for classes

really there is NOTHING more i would need or want.

WHat would u guys want from orientation.

frankly I could care less about tour, lunch, dinner, etc. etc...the main thing is talking with counselor, signing up for classes...the rest of the info you can find online anyway...I don't see the point of spending a whole day and shelling out $110....

here's the proposed schedule for transfers:

8:30am - Opening Address: Entering a Community of Scholars
9:30am - What It Means to Be a Bruin
10:30am - University and College Degree Requirements
11:30 am - Students Meet Their Orientation Counselors
12:30pm - Lunch and Activities Fair
Afternoon - Departmental Advising Appts and Academic Advising Appts with Orientation Counselor
Afternoon - Various workshops and presentations
5:30 - 7:30pm - Dinner
7:30pm - Registration and Enrollment presentation
8:00 pm - Enrollment in Fall Quarter classes

sounds stupid...I wish they did the enrollment thing in the beginning so I could scram...the "activities fair" sounds the thing you are dreading malishka....sounds fun

hmmmmmmm maybe i can shopw up at 730pm instead of am since anything until that point appears useless.
