Business Econ has a REALLY low admit rate...scaring...!!!

and I kinda realized why it's still pending for me, just because the number of the applicants for this major is much larger than any others. Maybe those people who got rejection decision on 28th just missed something really important and got out of this 'pending game' earlier. (totally NO offense to them, and feel sad for the rejections.)

Yes, I'd love to see the 2005 numbers when they come out.....a very competitive year. Also consider that most of those admits had TAP. So a 3.6 average is rather high coupled with TAP completion......

i hav a 3.9 gpa and loads of ecs and i got denied at cal fr econ...dunno why...probably bec i was transferring some units frm india. lets see wen the ucla decisions come out. i want to appeal against cal's tho.

yeah danzzz, I have. I started last fall and completed 44 semester units in 2 semesters and a 6-week winter session.
What I'm doubting is that the guys at cal didn't transfer 16 units worth of work that I had brot frm an Indian university. Before I applied, my counselor sent my transcript from india to both ucla and berkeley and they sed theyd give me 16 units of credit wid all A grades. Im waiting fr my counselor at my cc (santa monica college) to speak the guys up at cal and find out wat went wrong. It sux... and UCLA isnt helping by delaying the decisions till eternity.

we have to remember though that econ is an impacted major at cal, so that may be one of the reasons why even a 3.9 didn't cut it. i'm sorry you didn't get in, uday, but i agree - you should appeal. it can't hurt.

guess what...even UCLA denied admission. now all im left wid is ucsb. i dont get it...i do everything rite...finish abt 2 yrs coursework in 2 semesters...complete alll the major pre-reqs....hav a 3.93 currently...and im still rejected??? and i know tht i had a good essay...

Yes, but most admits completed TAP, did you? I personally didn't. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference. Anyway, sorry to hear that. It's just a case of a very strong applicant pool, I guess.....

did you have some critical classes in progress this semester? that was the reason i was given for some rejections. also, it could be worth it to call them and ask why you were rejected. you may find they made a mistake on something.
