UCLA Placement Exams for Freshmen Students

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows any information on the UCLA placement tests you need to take once you're admitted. Truthfully, I am very worried for the Math placement test and was wondering if anyone can provide names of books that will really prepare me for the exam? I was hoping I could get a few recs for all the subjects but I'm more curious about Math.

bump? please help!

You only need to take the math placement exam if you didn’t meet certain requirements. What math are you taking now?

@theearlybird,

thanks for replying! im taking math analysis aka pre-calc

In that case, I assume you’ll be taking calculus as your first math class here. So you’ll need to take the placement exam (it’s an online test). Here’s the link regarding the testing information. <a href=“You are being redirected...”>Undergraduate Program | UCLA Department of Mathematics;

Are all of them online? Just curious, what if you get < 16/60 (16 gets you to Math1), what happens then?

There’s not multiple tests. Just one but you can take it up to two times and it’ll take the higher score. With regards to getting less than 16/60, I’m not sure what happens then because I don’t know that that’s ever happened to anyone I talked to… :smiley:
