UCLA Please Chance Me

Hey Guys! Im a Senior whose dream school is UCLA, and am applying to the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied letters and Sciences (Undeclared and my secondary major is Undeclared in Social Science

SAT I 1540, 780 Reading/Writing 760 Math (Not the best Essay 15/24 Rip) (First try idk if that helps but its not superscored)
SAT II: 770 Math II
ACT: Did Not Take
Unweighted GPA im not too sure I think its 3.87 ish? (I have 1 B- grade, 1 B grade, 1 B+ grade, 11 A- grades and 24 A grades, and 8 A+ grades, all worth the same amount of credits)
GPA weighted: 4.3 (I think)
UC GPA (Im not sure)

The school didnt offer APs until our Junior year and the maximum you could take is 4.

I dont know how to calculate my UC GPA so those are my grades for reference lol

Also, what are my odds for USC? Both my parents graduated so I have double legacy on my side

My D is also applying to both UCLA and USC. You have great test scores but I think you need to calculate your UC capped GPA to understand your statistical chances for the various UC campuses. Also, if you are applying for Engineering (CS?), it is super competitive. Many applicants will have 2 years of AP Calc under their belts, along with 4.0 UW GPAs. Not trying to rob you of hope, but you should also apply to less competitive UCs (UCSB, UCSD, UCI, UCD) as a safety.

Your legacy status probably won’t be a hook for you at USC. They rejected 90% of legacy applicants last year, though many were offered a path to later admission. You look competitive to me for admission, but perhaps not for CS.
