I plan on transferring to UCLA in fall of '09 but my current college does not have any classes equivalent to STATS 10 or POL SCI 30. I was wondering if anyone knew any schools in the Los Angeles area that offers them or if anyone was able to find somewhere online to take these.
Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

Exploring Majors

There is a reason you are given pre-poli sci status upon transfer- you take those courses at UCLA.

if the classes are not offered a your college then you can wait until you get to
ucla. They wont penalize you

They will not be offered in any community college actually.

Malishka31 -- the classes listed by the original poster are political science major prereqs, so they WILL be offered by some CCs. The original poster's problem is that they are not currently being offered at his CC.

Of course people are still admitted without completing their major prereqs, especially if no articulated class is offered at their CC, but the relevant question is, does it marginally help you to go out of your way to take them at another CC?

The two polisci courses he is talking about ARE not offered. i am just reffering to those two.. there is a polisci specific stat course and polisci 30,.... they are to specific for a comm college to offer them.

can you switch to pre-polisci from another major if i take some summer classes?

pull up assist.org- it says you will be allowed to change until Fall 2009- after that it will be VERY hard.

Some do offer them. The stats class is offered at Pierce and El Camino.

I meant poli sci 10 and poli sci 30/ not stats 10= stats 10 is offered all over the place.

I have only seen 1 college offer PoliSci 10 so far- and none that offer poli sci 30.

SMC has poli 10- only school i seen to offer it.

Poli 30 i never seen.
