Hi everyone!
I was wondering if anyone had any insight on how UCLA’s Pre-Business Economics major stacks up to UC Berkeley’s Haas and their business program?
I recently got into UCLA for their pre-business economics major but I also was accepted early into Cal: I’m having trouble deciding whether it’s worth waiting 2 years at Cal to apply to Haas with the potential of not getting in.
With in-state tuition, cost won’t be much of an issue.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Haas is way better than Ucla biz Econ. Econ at cal is going to have comparable if not better opportunities than Ucla Econ and biz Econ.
I’m in your exact situation. Personally if you had just those 2 options, I would go with Cal.
CAL has much better recruiting opportunities. Sign up to the business clubs early. Take on leadership positions. Meet the campus recruiters. Build a professional network. Lock in meaningful internships. Get the highest GPA you can get. Get into HAAS. Continue to build your professional network. Get MBB internship or equivalent. Turn it into full time job offer at graduation. You are all set. And while you are working your Hass off in college don’t forget to have some fun and build a great social life as well. Invest in relationships. It’s the best investment you can make while at school.
