ucla provisional acceptance questions: low spring grades

I had reportted my classes change before the decision came out. In the early March, I emailed UCLA about my change. Now, I have been admitted(econ). Do I need to report again?

probably not. I did what you did. the page shows the courses you reported and grades ect. if you have any other changes you should make htem but if not, then i think you’re okay

Does your provisional agreement contract say, “Maintain the grade point average and complete the courses and number of units you reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates.” because mine does. And does that mean if my gpa lowers, my admission may be rescinded?

because I had a 3.8 and I think it may drop a bit in the Spring.

Thanks, KajeYomama!
btw, where is “the page shows the courses you reported and grades ect” ?

same here im not gonna have a 4.0 this semester. my calc3 class will bring my gpa down. Along with that, i prolly wont get an A in my general bio class. Everything else, though, I expect to get an A or at least B. =( I am hanging in there

Google “UCLA Admissions” should be the first link.

Admitted Students -> Fall Quarter 2008 Transfers -> should bring you to:
[UCLA Undergrad Admissions: New Bruins - Transfer New Student Guide](New Student Checklist for Transfers | UCLA Undergraduate Admission)

then the 4th one down (i did the first 3). Then it’ll ask you to log in (so you need to do step 1).

Log in and it’ll bring you to a pre-filled out form that you just need to either make changes, add info, and it has room to explain things.

yeah I applied with 3.72 and it has dropped already to 3.69 so I don’t know what’ll happen. they dont specify what gpa to maintain.

kaje-- i think you’re alright,
compared to my 3.86 to 3.11 at least

i can totally justify it with ucla tho, bc of family obligations, work, and volunteering

i just emailed ucla admin regarding my scenario & also emailed my CC counselor, a former ucla admissions guy

is your overall above still at least 3.5 ?

a significant drop IMO would be getting a GPA that would drop your OVERALL Gpa mmm say .4 - .45 points and above.

i can’t imagine UCLA rejected you (after admitting you) because of a couple of C’s… isn’t it kinda the unspoken rule that you get to slack a little your last semester?

I didn’t take that first part, “Maintain the grade point average and complete the courses and number of units you reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates.” quite so explicitly as some of you seem to be. To me, that just means, don’t completely eff up this semester and fail a bunch of classes, and you’re good to go. I’m probably going to get a C in multi-var calc… but, who doesn’t get a C in that class? jesus. I don’t think they quite as Nazi as we’re thinking. Now, sit back and enjoy your UCLA admittance and wait for UCB decisions!

for what it’s worth, i personally spoke to someone who got accepted to UCLA last year, but got a D in a physics pre-req, and her app got rescinded. I laughed in her face, because now she’s at community college for another year.

j/k i didn’t laugh in her face. i waited.

Hello.

Yes, you should report these grades/changes to us through the online form. However, you can’t report on courses that are still in progress. You will need to wait for the end of the semester to report what the final grade is. If you end up dropping the course, please report that to us immediately.

There is not a guarantee that your admission status will be revoked, or that it will remain the same. If the provisional contract, your application will be re-read by an evaluator to determine if your admission status will be affected.

Sincerely,
UCLA Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools
