Hi everyone,
I have a question, on the UCLA provisional contract. On my course requirements it tells me to take 2 transferable courses in English comp.

Complete Coursework Requirements
Complete the following course pattern by June 2012 with C grades or better:
two [2] transferable courses in English composition;

For the 2 transferable English courses, I actually passed out of those at my current school (UCR) with an AP score of 4 so that gives me credit for English 1A and 1B, and now I am taking the last quarter of English 1C to finish up my GEs. I am just wondering, you can use AP credits to cover the English composition requirement right? I just don't know why they would put that on my contract when I already specified in my application I was going to use my AP credits.

UC Intercampus transfers are exempt from that requirement. So it doesn’t matter

Source: an email I sent to UCLA, in which they responded

"Hello,

As a UC to UC transfer applicant, you only need to focus on your UC’s GE courses because UC to UC transfer applicants do not need to worry about completing the seven courses listed inside the UCLA Transfer Admission Guide.

Thank you,
UCLA Undergraduate Admissions"

I think that contract is somewhat generic.

Oh, thanks! Yeah I was wondering why they would relist all the requirements when I am a UC-Uc transfer. That helps clear things up though. I’m finishing the last three GE’s I need this quarter. The minimum GPA to transfer is a 3.0 Spring quarter right? I actually had a 4.0 when I applied and the contract states to maintain the GPA that I had when I applied, but it’s already a 3.9 from an A- last quarter. Not really enjoying the classes this quarter either, but they’re manageable. Looking forward to the quarter ending already and it’s only week 4 :(
