UCLA questions about admission

UCLA has become my target school and I am taking the steps to achieve this goal of mine, but I think I may fall short in one area…

I have taken AP Euro, AP Lang, AP Bio, and Honors Alg 2, Precalc
My 10-11 GPA is a 4.26 (all A’s freshman year and all regulars)

However, I’ve gotten a few B’s, particularly in my math classes and because of this I am not at the top of my class, my class rank is a DECILE 2 & 748, which is what makes me nervous. I am not at the top 10% of my high school, but there are 700+ kids so it is very hard ! how important is decile rank in my admissions process ? is it too late ?

My senior program will have 5 AP’s with 6 classes total ! so I am not planning to slack off !

The UC’s base admission on 10th and 11th grade performances. At the UC’s, it is about the GPA and the SATs. Try to get top scores and continue your EC’s

UCLA only looks at 10th and 11th grade – they have what are called A-G requirements as well. If you go to their website they will have all the requirements. Look also at their published averages for GPA and SAT/ACT scores. You may also consider looking at other UCs such as Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, and Davis.http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/requirements/a-g-requirements/index.html
