Waiting for UC Berkeley. A lot of ECs, fine essays. SAT 2020 SAT II Physics 800 Math II 800
GPA: 3.5+
Graduate from a high school in China. Immigrant...
No supplement from UCLA or Berkeley
missing one year academic record and visual art, but update via email

OK! I have done so.

I think that is okay man.

However, I just post the information from my email. UCAP did help me send my update to my colleges. I don’t know why the result is so BAD.

MYOMO, Sorry to see you didn’t get into UCLA as well. Time to think RPI

I know but I think that maybe too expensive for me…, :(:(

keep your head high, being rejected doesnt mean you wont be sucessful in the future.

Without college, how can I conduct scientific research? I really want to conduct particle physics research and work with some famous professors on nuclear physics projects. I mention it in my application. My major is physics… But see now… I don’t think UC respect a student who loves knowledge rather than a degree…:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

How could you be rejecetd so many times?? The UC system is screwed this year~

idk. I wonder why I got rejected so many times… Maybe I missed a year of visual art and English, but you know Chinese high school is three-year and I update my 9th grade academic record to UCAP. UCAP said they had already sent my update to my colleges. Why I still got rejected???

I’m very sorry, I too believe that knowledge is so much more important than a degree. But that’s not how it is anymore and I’m very sorry about that. Please consider appealing -that’s what I’m going to do. If necessary, contact them through email and phone again and explain to them what is going on.

@seresteiras Yes. I now really want to appeal though. What is your result?

To be honest, your GPA and SAT score are probably too low for UCSD/UCLA/Cal. That is probably why you weren’t accepted.

I don’t think so. Many people have lower SAT gets in. I have a friend SAT 1960 GPA 3.6 gets into UC Davis… :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

ok so sometimes luck plays a big role
it’s just the person who read your application and the moment he read it
perhaps when he read it he preferred another application but disliked yours
sometimes people got into ucb but not the lower tier uc’s
nobody knows
i thought i was lucky enough to get into 4 schools until today
when i found out that luck plays a very big role
not everything can be explained

You were on target for UC Davis, that is why you were wait listed. You may still get in.

But for ucla/cal/Ucsd… Take a look at the stats of people who were admitted. Lots of 4.0+ and 2100+ to compete with. Your gpa is low, and that’s the most important thing admissions looks at… Sorry :(

Today, another rejection comes. Boston University rejected me, too. Lol. I think I will be rejected by all colleges I applied, even community college :):):):):):):):):)

You will get in where you fit in my homie

What do you mean? I don’t know man…

sorry to hear that. It seems like there is something wrong on your application, perhaps the GPA? Those colleges should know that education is more difficult in China!
