Hi Guys,
Just wondering if any of you have considered on appealing to UCLA’s rejection decision for this Fall transfer. I’m from a CCC and I submitted mine on May 1, right when the portal opened. Just wondering if anyone is also waiting on the decision, or know anything about the chances of getting in, etc.
@mp14238 I appealed and turned in my letter on the 14th. I applied for applied math. Im a first year UC-Uc transfer. due to AP credits I was eligible to transfer. I will finish all my lower division math and will start upper divisions next year as a second year. to be honest, i knew i was going to get rejected because my mom was diagnosed with cancer in november and it really took a toll in my mental status because i couldn’t cope with the idea that my mom had a serious cancer.as a result, my grades took a huge hit (GPA 3.104). so i explained that in my letter and my passion for the study of math. hopefully we get in!
Hello guys! Was just wondering if any of you have heard back yet about your appeals?
I am currently waiting for a decision, and am quite surprised at the time its taking them to decide. If they are going to let me in, then I hope that’s the case. Good luck to all of you guys!!!
Why are you surprised? The SIR deadline was just 5 days ago.
@Nirsimha what was the base of your appeal?
@alicantekid Well, I mean, I guess I am just impatient as I believe you are also dying to hear back?
@luckie1367 Well, I had already gotten into UCLA for math, and I really didn’t want to do math. I appealed my decision to just change my major. I know many people would be mad at me, but engineering is truly what I want to do, and so I decided to appeal my entire application. Let me know your basis?
I’m not an appeal applicant, so I don’t have a basis. I was just curious to your circumstances.
I am a CCC transfer student who successfully appealed and was notified on June 2. Any questions, hit me up.
@jackiv4 Congratz!!! What major were you appealing for?
@Nirsimha, thanks! I am a pre-poli sci major, which is just really impacted. Bruined my day getting that email.
I was also accepted off an appeal recently as an African-American studies major. Feel free to PM with any questions.
