UCLA Rejection Letter

UCLA continues to receive more applications for admission than we can accommodate in our freshman class. For Fall 2009, we received more than 55,000 applications for 4,700 available spaces for freshmen.....</p>

<p>55000 applicantions, 4700 available spaces..</p>

<p>Admittance rate = 8.5%!!!? </p>

<p>What happened? I thought they used to accept 13000ish students.</p>

<p>im pretty sure that they accepted more than 4700 , its just taht 4700 enroll. i may be wrong.</p>

<p>^^Correct. UCLA’s acceptance rate is usually around 20%, not 8%. They accept around 10 or 11 thousand in order to enroll 4700 - based on their expected yield. Many of the top kids they accept go to Berkeley or Ivy League schools.</p>
