lol maybe he's just going there to visit his/her friend or something hahaha

The only thing that's worse than digging up an old thread is digging up an old, misleading thread.

skooskoo, this is the link you might want to check out

For freshman

While all appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, the rate of a decision being reversed based upon an appeal has historically been very low.

Essay: Thought they were pretty compelling

This just sucks so much for me, I have worked my butt off the past 2.5 years in CC. Since I’m probably going to have to settle for CSUN (I’m a mom, we own a house in So Cal so relocation options are pretty limited), why the h*** did I kill myself for those grades when I could have kicked back, spent more time with my kid, and got C’s? It just seems so unfair.

Will they really be able to tell you why you were rejected if you call? What kind of appeals are successful?

Pink: I spoke to admissions office yesterday. The gal told me that for transfer students, they will tell you the reasons why you were rejected because trasnfer’s criteria are more specific vs freshmans’ admission.

Refer to my above post.

If you call they are obligated to tell you why you were rejected. Appeals are successful if you tell them new information.

Sorry, and best of luck!

@pink
what about irvine is that too far for you?

iceboar can you post the number?

[UCLA Undergrad Admissions: Contact Information](Contact Us | UCLA Undergraduate Admission)

(310) 825-3101

Denied!
GPA: 3.5
Major: Polisci
igetc/TAP certified
missing 1 prereq
EC: 2 years associated student leadership, club membership, honors program, paid obama campaign staff for 16 months, delegate to the 2008 democratic national convention, and involved in church leadership.

I know my gpa isn’t great, but with my EC i figured i would get accepted.

I didn’t even apply to UCI…I might just wait and try again next year, and add UCI and UCSB in my campus choices…both are possibly unrealistic commutes but at least I’d have the option if UCLA rejects me AGAIN. I just don’t think I can stomach settling for CSUN, with as hard as I’ve worked for these grades. At my age (40) what’s another year?

I guess I have some serious decisions to make. I’m glad this forum is here for support. Its a sad day for many of us who really worked our butts off.
